Switchman Images General WOW, it's been THAT long since the WC gobbled up the AC? 2/18/2008 3:09:11 PM
David Stewart General How did those old AC SDs run? I assume they were just like the rest of the rattle traps! Did they have the hot plates and such on them like the CN & CP? 5/31/2008 1:07:41 AM
Greg Smith General As I recall, thay were rather dark in the cab but had nice heaters. We never used the hot plates, but I think they still worked. What I remember most about these engines was the stupid placement of the bell which was very loud in the cab. They also had the Canadian steps which were a little harder to get up and down. 6/2/2008 4:03:00 PM
Rick Oswald General Way Cool, This pic was on the main page today- You're Famous now Greg- 1/15/2009 6:53:48 PM
Andre Wehrle General Nice! The CN still operates several of the WC's ex-AC SD40-2s, including 6006 IIRC. The bell placement seemed to be a Canadian thing. A lot of CN and CP units have them hung in front of the cab like that. At least you can actually hear them all the way around the locomotive on the outside. 1/20/2009 2:53:36 AM
Kyle Yunker General Cool picture. Are the steps kind of like the old GE U30C's or really any UBoat? I hated climbing up those things when I was a kid but it was awesome once you got up lol. 5/26/2009 12:05:33 AM
Alex Vaughn General Cool shot! 10/24/2009 12:21:40 AM
Jeremy MacPherson General CN and CP liked to mount their bells up high so they wouldn't get plugged with snow in the winter. Whether it worked or not I'm not sure. 12/14/2009 12:13:20 AM
Jacob Nelson General Front page! 5/26/2010 6:31:39 PM
steven langsford General Very nice photo!!! long live WC 10/20/2011 2:41:02 PM
Edward Weisensel General This is now on the Wisconsin Great Northern - a better fate than 6004 + 6005 which were scrapped. 11/11/2011 1:06:43 PM
Tony Held General Nice shot. RIP, Wisconsin Central and Algoma Central... 5/15/2014 7:10:11 PM
Tom Beckett General I always thought Algoma Central's units looked a lot like EL's with that attractive paint scheme. Home page 2-2-2019 2/2/2019 4:16:01 AM
Henry Lombard-Hughes General Very nice! 6/13/2020 7:36:35 PM
